The oceans provide 99% of the living space on the planet containing 50-80% of all life. Wow, that is a lot of life living under the water! Think of how important the ocean is to our world.

Educate

Did you know that Lobsters communicate by peeing at each other. They have urine nozzles just under their eyes and they expel pheromones by peeing in the direction of other lobsters.

Learn

Dolphins only sleep with half their brain shut down and only 1 eye closed at a time - this way they are always ready for any sort of threat. It's called sleep swimming.

Some sea turtles can travel up to 10,000 miles per year! A sea turtle will always return to where they were born to lay eggs, here they will lay over 100 eggs.

Goliath Grouper

How big is a big fish?

Pretty massive

Goliath groupers can grow bigger than 8 feet and weigh up to 800 pounds. Sometimes 100's will gather to spawn - could you imagine?

Whale Shark

Is it a fish, shark or whale?

They are actually a fish

Whale sharks are a shark, which means they are a fish! They can grow up to 40 feet and weight up to 20,000 pounds. That's a lot of critter to love.

Sperm Whale

How deep can they dive?

2-3km!

A sperm whale will dive 2-3km in search of prey and hold its breath for up to two hours. They use echolocation to find their favorite food, giant squid.

Sharks

Sharks are one of the most feared and misunderstood animals.

Sharks need your help

2 to 3 sharks are killed every minute and 90% of the world's shark population has disappeared from culling and finning. The ocean needs these important creatures.
