Get to know us
Each member of the MAR team brings something special to the trip - knowledge of the marine life, specialists in the location, dive certified and we think our gang id pretty fun.
Dive in and meet us
We consider each other 'Ohana': a Hawaiian term meaning "family". By the end of your journey you will be part of the MAR Ohana.

Why travel with us?

MAR has been organizing small ocean wildlife expeditions for 12 years. We keep our groups
small to minimize our impact on the areas we visit and to ensure the animals are not stressed
or overwhelmed. This also ensures that our guests can maximize time with the animals. Our
company is a tight-knit group of conservationists and experts in their fields. All of our
employees are passionate about wildlife and conservation. We are all marine biologists and
ocean aficionados, so we can give you lots of information, and believe me, we have a lot to
share.

Meet Our Crew

Our team is a dedicated bunch. Each individual has been carefully selected based on their
knowledge, expertise, and dedication to preserving marine life.

Jules

Jules is our resident mermaid and trip leader, she can free dive like a boss and we swear she
speaks dolphin. Jules studied Oceanography in Hawaii and knows a ton about marine mammals.
Her favorite quote pretty much sums her up: “dive down and connect deeply”. You’ll learn so
much on a trip with Jules and probably make a friend for life.

Zed

Zed is a marine biologist who has dedicated his life to jellyfish, he is literally a walking (err
swimming) jellyfish encyclopedia. Not only does he know just about everything you can imagine
about our squishy friends but he is also our boat captain. Ask Zed how to tickle a jellyfish if you
get the chance, it will be something you will not soon forget.

Scarlett

Scarlett has spent the last 8 years of her life honing her skills as a dive instructor, wildlife guide,
camerawoman, and shark feeder. She is extremely passionate about the animals she
encounters, and her enthusiasm is infectious. She has spent many hours in the field observing
marine wildlife – photographing and studying their behavior, trying to discover their true
nature.

August

August is our trip photographer; his photos are amazing (check out his IG portfolio if you get a
chance). Not only does he document the entire trip so you can focus on the marine life but he
grew up on a small island in the south pacific and we swear he has webbed feet. August always
wears a smile and his stories are endlessly entertaining.
